Plainsboro Wedding Reception

This past Saturday, I kicked it in my beloved town of Plainsboro. The wedding ceremony was in the front yard and officiated by the mayor, and the reception was in the backyard under a big tent with windows and pullout sides.

The weather was a rollercoaster ride. On Friday, NJ got hammered with heavy rains from a tropical storm. Saturday morning was clear and sunny, and fortunately the weather was picture perfect for the ceremony. The reception was another matter. The rain came suddenly and hard. The sides of the tent went up. Then it cleared. The sides of the tent went down again (a major endeavor). The rain returned later. Despite these problems, the party went smoothly.

The crowd went for a little bit of this... and that. For the Texans, God Blessed Texas and The Fireman by George Strait were successes. Sweet Home Alabama, Free Bird and On the Radio were big hits. Don't Cha by the Pussy Cat Dolls and She Bangs by Ricky Martin were misses. The Don't Cha CD single giveaways went to two young ladies.

The groom and his brother had a misunderstanding the night before the wedding, and the brother did not attend. I was sad to see this. They had a Mariachi band in these cool boots for cocktail hour, which was very exotic. The father of the groom is from Mexico, and wife is from Oregon.

Very nice couple, nice result, kudos from all.

My best of Kenny Rogers CD came up short in an important way. Must check and double check the hallmark wedding dance songs.
