Happy Birthday to Me!

Last Friday, June 23rd, I celebrated my 35th birthday... whoopee! Actually, I worked a 1/2 day at the office and then a Sweet 16 Party in the PM. The PM party was a good group... outgoing, and a couple of the young ladies insisted on dancing in my DJ booth. The favorite current dance style of this group was definitely "crunk". The place went nuts when I played "It's Going Down" by Yung Joc.

Saturday night I was up in Budd Lake for a wedding held at a private residence under a big tent. Thankfully, the thunderstorms and torrential rain hit other parts of NJ, but not Budd Lake. I played a continuous 8 hour set, including an excellent club-style party music set for the last 90 minutes. The dance floor enjoyed the high speed merengue remix of Lil Jon's "Get Low."
Sunday evening the real birthday party started. I retrieved my family from JFK airport. I did not get snared by the Goethals Bridge or Staten Island too. The gang looked great... Zach gave me a big smile and a big hug and Max was happy to see me also. They are all very jetlagged now, and keeping me up at night, and sleeping during the day.

I am a big fan right now of Gnarls Barkley and their hit single "Crazy." In terms of albums, I highly recommend Thievery Corporation's new one, "Versions." Very nice lounge, chill music.
We have 62 confirmed guests for Club 2606 next Monday night and another 30 maybes. Lots of no responses - it should be a reasonable turnout.

DJ Struggler is helping me to re-design my website. The prototype is up at http://www.strugglesville.com/. We are hoping to launch next week. Props to DJ Struggler.
In past week, I booked a wedding for 2007 and a baptism party for July 30th in nearby Hamilton. That will give me some more spending $ before departing for Las Vegas on 7/31.
