Wedding Crashers Reviewed - Go See It!

It was with great anticipation that I viewed the Wedding Crashers last night. Wow, what a funny movie! Cheeseballs Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are divorce mediators by day, and "wedding crashers" by weekend. Their formula is to infiltrate a wedding/reception, be highly outgoing guests and then seduce the ladies. The initial scenes are a collage of wedding events and women, and very satisfying. Rather than cover a large number of events in little depth, the plot moves on to the main story.

Vaughn proposes the biggest crash yet - that of the Secretary of Treasury's daughter's wedding. The Secretary of Treasury is played by the ghastly white and somewhat creepy Christopher Walken (one of my favorites!). Vaughn and Wilson sucessfully infiltrate the wedding and reception, but then find themselves at a weekend afterparty at Walken's waterfront mansion. Walken's family is zanier than the Fokker's, and there are so many laughs to be had. The dialogue is brilliant and Vince Vaughn in particular is at the top of his game.

The underlying love stories are very good. A cameo by Will Ferrell takes the comedy over the top! There's lots of raunchy language and some pleasant nudity, so keep the young 'uns at home!

Too bad there were no DJs featured in the movie, just stuffy big bands. In my mind, I've always thought that "crashing a wedding" would be easy. In reality, I think that it would be pretty difficult, with a good chance of getting your ass kicked if discovered, if not arrested!
